Two flights of stairs in a Surrey home finished with new treads and risers in a light oak tone, set off by black metal balusters. Each step was measured and cut on its own, so the treads sit tight to the walls with no gaps to fill, and the bottom flight ends in a wider box step at the landing. Floors and hallways stayed covered the whole way through, so the rest of the house came out clean.
Rubber gym flooring glued down across two rooms of a fitness centre in Victoria. The concrete was patched and skim-coated first to fill the low spots and cracks, so the rubber lies flat and there are no dips where weights get dropped. The rolls were then set into adhesive, with the seams taped down while it cured, so the floor stays tight and doesn’t creep under heavy training.
Engineered hardwood glued down across the main hall of École La Vallée, a school in Pemberton. Before a single board went in, every seam in the plywood subfloor was patched and levelled — on a floor this size, any high spot shows up later as a squeak or a lifted edge. Glue-down keeps a large commercial floor solid and quiet underfoot, even with a school’s worth of traffic.
Luxury vinyl plank through the bedrooms, hallway and closets, then the same board carried up the staircase — treads and risers both. Stairs are the slow part: every tread is cut and scribed on site and the nosing has to line up down the whole flight. Most galleries stop at the flat floor because that is the easy half.
Wide-plank white oak installed with the glue-down method across the main living areas, hallways, kitchen and dining room. Glue-down gives a solid underfoot feel with no hollow sound — the right call in a character home where the subfloor and room shapes are anything but square.
A high-rise unit taken from bare concrete to finished floor. The slab was levelled first, then waterproof SPC plank was laid throughout. Concrete in towers is rarely flat enough to install over directly — the prep is what stops the clicking and gapping later.
